The iPhone 7 has so far been less impressive with word that Apple has held off any major changes to their flagship until 2017 for the iPhone 8.
All that is expected to affect the sales forecast of Apple for this year, but iPhones continue to ponder on what to expect and what not to. Below are some things we know about the upcoming iPhone 7.
What has been gathered so far
As we had previously posted, the iPhone 7 will reportedly have a dual-lens camera, higher storage for the most basic variant (from 16 GB to 32 GB) plus the much celebrated removal of the 3.5 mm.
The removal of the 3.5 mm jack was actually the first rumor to crop up in recent months, something responsible for making the iPhone 7 thinner. However, a new leak may oppose those claims.
Rock Fix, a smartphone manufacturer based in China, has posted some photos via Weibo of alleged iPhone 7 components. Noticeable was the Lightning cable assembly which still showed the headphone port attached.
Apple now offering dual-SIM?
Aside from that, also spotted in the supposed iPhone 7 model were dual-SIM trays, which would be an uncanny first for Apple.
The company has never catered to dual-SIM capability, not even for their budget-friendly devices like the iPhone 5c or iPhone SE. Could they be offering that feature now in iPhone 7?
Like previous leaks, it is best to take these iPhone 7 dual sim reports as unofficial as mentioned by Engadget. Apple will not confirm nor deny these leaks and the best bet is to wait until its reveal date which is expected to be this September.
Right now, the belief is that the iPhone 7 will have the features mentioned above though we did add a couple of new ones such as that home button iteration on a previous post. This would mean better protection and seeing the iPhone 7 (if true) carrying a smoother front.
The iPhone 7 images leaked could be nothing more than prototypes, meaning they are possible phones that Apple could pick up as cited by Ubergizmo. With that alone, the spotting of the 3.5 mm jack could be tied up with a previous sample though the dual-SIM feature carries an interesting twist.
