Two fighters step to the center of the canvas. Each man puts his power foot forward and steps into a right cross, but before the punches can land the screen fades black.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2's opening sequences is as compelling as any big Hollywood blockbuster. It contains choreographed fight scenes, deadly snakes, demons, angels and a mysterious antagonist, who is cloaked in shadows.
The head-to-head fights in the ring look like a mythological version of the movie "Real Steel." the game is the eighth installment in the Tekken fighting game series, and is the successor to the 1999 game, Tekken Tag Tournament.
As in the original Tekken Tag Tournament, matches involve each player selecting two fighters to fight with. Players are able to switch their fighters out at any time during the fight. This will allow the inactive character to gradually recover some energy from the damage that they may have received during the fight. Player can also pull off tag hit, which are achieved by both player selected characters participating in a combo.
Similar to past Tekken releases, the game features character-customization and "Bound" hits-strikes that slam an airborne opponent to the ground and stun them so that combos can be extended. The game also gives fans of the franchise an opportunity to play as almost every character that has existed in the series.
The game will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2012, and for the Wii U during winter 2012.
