Catching up For Resident Evil: Retribution

Let's see if I've got this right. Last I checked, Alice had her crazy telekensis and super speed powers, then loses her powers, there's plagas randomly showing up without explanation, and now Jill Valentine is back? Yeah, between five movies and six games for the movies to try and follow, while still trying to provide an original story, things got a bit confusing pretty fast. That's why, thankfully, Alice is here to bring you up to speed.

But if you don't have 2 and a half minutes to spare, just read on below the requisite youtube clip.

Here's a pretty spot on summation courtesy of youtube user zwortnik, "Here's a proper recap: We made some zombies and blew stuff up, then ignored what happened in the last movie in order to blow more stuff up in a different place. Then we ignored what happened in that movie and blew more stuff up. Then we ignored the things we blew up so we could blow them up again. etc."

If you find Anderson's "Resident Evil" movies a little too garbled at this point, there's always the animated flicks.

The fifth of a franchise that's grossed nearly $700 million worldwide, "Resident Evil: Retribution" will have actors returning to reprise the roles of Alice, Carlos, and Jill Valentine. It will also feature other famed Resident Evil characters making their debut on the big screen, like Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, and others.

"Resident Evil: Retribution" is out September 14.
