‘Gotham’ Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: ‘Poison Ivy’ To Rise Next Season? Major Changes Revealed!

“Gotham” season 3 continues to carry a lot of mysteries following the season 2 finale. Rumors have been swirling, injecting familiar names like “Vicki Vale” and the “Mad Hatter” as possible additions next season.

But while these characters weren’t seen so far in “Gotham”, the upcoming season could also see the rise of another villain in the person of “Poison Ivy”.

For the ones who have followed “Gotham” religiously, Clare Foley played the role of “Poison Ivy” (or Ivy as “Selina Kyle/Catwoman” (Camren Bicondova) called her) as a seemingly harmless teenager. Thus far, no evil has been so far seen outside that she does show a somewhat stable personality.

The latest word right now from Screen Rant is that “Gotham” season 3 may possibly see the rise of “Poison Ivy," a new villain in the mix. Seeing how “Edward Nygma/Riddler” (Cory Michael Smith) came to being, “Ivy” could very well evolve as well.

Though Foley had the part, it doesn’t look like she will be the one evolving. Producers are instead recasting for someone to succeed the role previously held by Foley. Also up for answers is whether the new “Poison Ivy” would have a recurring role per TV Line.

The yet-to-be confirmed addition of “Poison Ivy” as well as other speculated villains should account for a bigger and hellacious “Gotham” season 3 as singled out by Screen Rant. Recall how those numbers skyrocketed following the escape of “Dr. Hugo Strange” (BD Wong) thanks to “Fish Mooney” (Jada Pinkett Smith) before season 2 came to a close.

From the looks of it “Gotham” is indeed headed to a major change something which was singled out no less by executive producer John Stephens via TV Line.

Other things that need to be covered is on who will be the next police commissioner. With Michael Chilkis character (“Captain Nathaniel Barnes”) killed off, “Harvey Bullock” (Donal Logue) became the unlikely and temporary head of the GCPD.

“Gotham” returns for a third season to Fox in the Fall.
