There were hints ahead of Microsoft's conference that there will be a merging of Xbox One, Xbox 360 ad Windows 10 PC games. A new initiative called "Xbox Play Anywhere" will allow gamers to buy selected cross-platform games once and own them on both versions.
'Xbox Play Anywhere' Leaked Ahead Of E3
Xbox games are now appearing in Windows Store Library, a signal that Microsoft is working on more cross-buying support, The Verge reported.
Mistaken as a system error, a tipster showed on Twitter the Xbox games appearing on his Windows Library ahead of Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference. Take a look at the picture below.
According to Polygon, the tipster said the games are "Currently Unavailable" when the he clicks the "Install Button." The tipster added that there were system requirements for some games. This clearly shows that "Xbox Play Anywhere" is indeed in the works as of the moment. In fact, this has been confirmed by Phil Spencer from Xbox. He said that they are making it a platform feature, which is good for their gamers. Check out his tweet below.
Microsoft Confirms Speculations At E3
PC World reported that Microsoft has announced their plans to push Xbox and PC platforms closer during Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference. "Xbox Play Anywhere" will indeed support certain Xbox One games on PC.
"Xbox Play Anywhere" allows one to buy a cross-platform game that will automatically work on both platforms. More so, all data, such as saved games, achievements and other information, will appear on both versions as well.
The installation has been made easier for both Windows and Xbox One games. Xbox One games will automatically populate on your Windows 10.
Simply go the Window Store, open Library Tab and find your "Xbox Play Anywhere" games there. Players can also play both versions at the same time.
"Xbox Play Anywhere" includes "Forza," "Horizon 3," "ReCore," "Gears of War 4," "Scalebound," "Sea of Thieves" and "We Happy Few." Check out Microsoft's press conference at E3 2016, courtesy of Gamespot.
