It's been a while since last we've seen Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation's protagonist Aveline, but the new trailer, which debuted at Sony's Gamescom press conference, shows that she is far from your usual Southern belle (as if we didn't know that already). Sporting a blowgun, whip, and a penchant for getting a nasty drop on guards, she's definitely assassin worthy material.
And if you thought that Altair and Ezio were roughnecks, keep this in mind: they never wrestled alligators. Check the trailer out for yourself below!
As the first female lead in the Assassin's Creed franchise, Aveline de Grandpre will give some Creole flavor to the Assassins. Her story is set to take place in New Orleans roughly around the time of the Louisiana Rebellion, shortly before Assassin's Creed 3's Connor is said to join the Assassins. Nothing's confirmed, but it seems possible that their paths will cross.
Beyond the whip and blowgun, Aveline also sports dual pistols, a sugar cane machete, and of course, the trademark hidden assassin's blade, all of which you can check for yourself here.
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will come out alongside Assassin's Creed 3, this fall, October 30th. Liberation will also be available as part of a PlayStation Vita bundle with a 4G memory card and a brand new white PS Vita.
