From the site of Gamescom in Germany earlier today, EA announced that Dead Space 3 hits North American store shelves February 5, and arrives in Europe February 8, 2013.
Dead Space 3 sees protagonist Isaac Clarke in a new frozen planet environment, surviving violent, subzero conditions while fighting gigantic creatures, blood-thirsty Necromorphs. DS3 also marks the first time that Clarke will take the fight to human enemies, in addition to the Necromorphs.
Thankfully, Clarke won't be going it alone. He's joined by a new co-op character, John Carver, a military officer. And to further ensure player survival, Visceral Games announced today that fans who pre-order the Dead Space 3 Limited Edition will have the advantage of using two bonus suits and weapons, right when they start the game.
Though Visceral has yet to reveil just what those weapons are, expect them to be able to take enemies apart limb from limb.
And for the creative types, Dead Space 3 is holding a contest players can enter to have their weapon design and face featured in the game. "With thousands of possible combinations you can create the perfect weapon to take down the Necromorph plague. Using a multitude of parts, build the ultimate tool and the very best will be featured in Dead Space 3. Craft and enter as many different weapon variations as you want."
Anyone who's interested can enter here, but do so quickly, the contest ends the first of September.
