A promotional poster of the upcoming game, “Injustice: Gods Among Us” was recently leaked, presenting an epic battle between Batman and The Flash. The ad presented the two heroes about to clash with the game title at the bottom, together with the caption stating that every battle defines you.
The source sent the “Injustice: Gods Among Us” posters to local shops to be given to those who will pre-order the game. The leakster added that the posters will only be available for as long as supplies are available. Details about the game has yet to be announced, but it will most likely be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. GameStop will probably be one of the game retailers, considering that the posters were forwarded to their store managers.
Polygon noted that the original game, also titled “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” which was launched in 2013, was a fighting-style game where players controlled various DC characters to combat each other in different settings in the DC Universe. The 2013 title was created by NetherRealm Studios, creator of “Mortal Kombat X,” and received good feedback from both fans and critics after it released.
The original “Injustice: Gods Among Us” was playable on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Subsequently, the game developer featured an Ultimate Edition that improved the visuals of the game. All DLC content after the 2013 release was later made available for PS4 and Xbox One. The upcoming game will most likely take on the same approach, with huge enhancements in the graphics and effects.
GameSpot revealed that “Injustice: Gods Among Us” is set in an alternate DC Universe where Joker launches a nuclear bomb on Metropolis and tricks Superman into murdering his own son and Lois Lane. As a result, Superman started a dictatorship and commanded a group of rebels. The DC heroes and villains had to choose sides, explaining why unlikely duels were possible in the game. The video game was highly successful and even led to a mobile game for Android and iOS, and a well-received comic book series, slated to end later in 2016.
Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the leaked poster of “Injustice: Gods Among Us.” The game developers have been good in keeping quiet about the details, plot, release date and setting of the game.
More information on “Injustice: Gods Among Us” are expected to release at E3 2016 in June.
