Assassin's Creed 3's Connor To Be Explored in New Novel

Ubisoft has announced in a press release that a new novel centering on the assassin Connor of Assassin's Creed 3, will release on December 4. Titled "Assassin's Creed: Forsaken" and written by Oliver Bowden, the novel will also permit gamers and readers to explore the game's central character and the fictionalized American Revolution in Assassin's Creed 3.

Bowden has written four previous Assassin's Creed novels including "Assassin's Creed: Renaissance," "Revelations," "Brotherhood," and "The Secret Crusade." Since the original game released in 2007, the first four Assassin's Creed games have sold over 38 million copies worldwide. In comparison sales of the Assassin's Creed novelizations have only reached over 380,000 copies.

The novel consists of 368 pages and will be published about a month after the release of the game on Dec. 4, for $9.99.  The novelization will follow assassin Connor, who has sworn to secure liberty for his Native American tribe. "Assassin's Creed: Forsaken" will tell the story of how Connor becomes a deadly killer.

The chaotic setting of the American Revolution's blood-soaked battlefields and the hostile American wilderness will provide fans of the license the most unique locale in the franchise's history.

The game will also contain a more contemporary setting than in any previous titles, which have included plots involving the Third Crusade and the Renaissance. The main plot will revolve around returning main character, Desmond miles. Players will also experience more Desmond than in any previous titles, according to the game developer.

The game is set for release on Oct. 30, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will be released for Microsoft Windows on Nov. 20 in North America and on Nov. 23 in the UK.
