NBA 2K13 Cover Athlete Blake Griffin Sits Down With Ronnie 2K

NBA 2K13 cover athlete Blake Griffin did an interview with 2K sports discussing his role in the legendary virtual basketball game, and where he believes in game characters' rating should be.

"I'd like to step up a couple notches," Griffin said. "I'd say 87."

2K host Ronnie Singh revealed to Griffin that he is indeed rated an 87 in NBA 2K13, and that he is the highest rated dunker in the game beside the legendary Michael Jordan.

Griffin also spoke about the honor he feels as the cover athlete for the long running video game franchise.

"It is an honor," Blake said. "The long list of great athletes that have been on and the legend that appeared on it last year. So it is great for me to be on there. I am truly humbled."

Last year's NBA 2K12 sold 5 million copies worldwide and won more than 25 Sports Game of the Year awards. NBA 2K13 will try to build on the past success of the franchise by delivering an even more authentic basketball experience. The new game features an enhanced My Player mode and an exciting new soundtrack produced by hip-hop star Jay-Z.  

NBA 2K13 will be released in October for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC. There is a Wii U version also planned to launch at a later date. The basketball simiulation will also ship in a special Dynasty Edition. This special edition includes the All-Star add-on downloadable content, a custom NBA 2K13 full-sized Spalding basketball, exclusive 2K Sports ear buds from Skullcandy, and an NBA 2K13 basketball-textured controller skin. NBA Dynasty Edition is for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems only.
