Mass Effect 3 Will Include Interactive Comic On Wii U

The Mass Effect series will be making a much anticipated debut on a Nintendo console this holiday season and the game's maker Bioware has announced that the upcoming Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 will use an interactive comic book to catch Nintendo gamers up to speed on the earlier events of the trilogy. The news was annouced in a video interview by GotGame with Biorware's Melanie Faulkner.

Since Wii U owners will not be receiving editions of the first two Mass Effect games, this digital comic will allow gamers to make key decisions from the first two entries that will carry forward when they begin Mass Effect 3. The comic will give players the feeling of controlling the story's progression as if they had experienced the original games.

Bioware also released an interactive comic book called Mass Effect Genesis, when the franchise moved to the PlayStation 3, but there is no word on if Genesis will also be included with the Wii U edition. One of the few flaws of the PlayStation 3 version of the Mass Effect series is the lack of the original game's immersive narrative. The original game is still a Microsoft Xbox 360 exclusive.

The Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 will come bundled with the Extended Cut DLC and the recently revealed single-player Leviathan DLC, which centers on series protagonist Commander Shepard.

The Wii U is set to debut worldwide this holiday season, but an exact price or release date has yet to be revealed.
