New Twitter App: Slices Streamlines Timeline

The developers of TweetCaster, released Slices for Twitter on Google Play and iTunes App Store. It is a free app that helps users organize their Twitter feeds by offering more control, especially when following live events.

The app also syncs well with the web version too.

As the name indicates, app Slices breaks your timeline into certain groups of people you follow. The Slice feature is similar to Lists feature of Twitter but only in that the new feature is automated and easier to use.

Slices helps you streamline the process of looking for more people you want to follow. The app has a very convincing feature, known as Explore tab that separates users you do not follow into groups like Music, Celebs, News, Tech, Science and Local, etc. You can easily pick from the featured users or flip though the list; greatly improving on Twitter's own offerings, and is similar to Flipboard or Pulse.

It's also fun to follow trending topics and live events with Slices. There are two headings, Trending and Live Events under the Explore tab. In the trending headings you can select country-wise and city-wise. Live Events list includes  ongoing events like 2012 Summer Games immediately opening a new timeline that revolves around the London Olympics.

The Slices app will appeal to a broader audience and make for an easier Twitter experience.
