Assassin's Creed 3's New AnvilNext Gameplay Engine in All it's Glory

There's a lot more to Assassin's Creed 3's new gameplay engine then just making things look pretty. "This propietary technology renders seemless worlds of nearly infinite possibility." What kind of possibilities? Well, the AnvilNext engine is why you'll be able to see up to two thousand British and Colonial troops on screen during some of the game's most epic battle scenes.

The engine is responsible for Connor's ridiculously fluid movement, whether he's swinging from tree branches in the forest or scaling buildings in Boston or New York.

The engine "also features a dynamic game world, where the game world will change itself over the course of time." This means structures, pieces of the environment, and even enemy settlements may appear or suddenly disappear depending on the events in the game. The seasons even change in game. In short, the engine is boss. Have I got your attention yet? Then proceed to check out the clip below, and I'll let the narrator with the golden throat take it from here.

If that doesn't get you pumped for Assassin's Creed 3, then quite frankly, nothing will. You'll be able to take on this brave new world when Assassins's Creed 3 is out October 31, for PS3 and XBox 360.
