If you're a fan of the "Alien" and "Aliens" films (don't worry if you didn't like "Resurrection," nobody did), then you won't be disappointed by the game. At least that's what Brian Martel, Colonial Marines' Chief Creative Officer thinks. "I think one of the similarities you would find between James Cameron's 'Aliens' and where we are with the game is really in look and feel and tone of the game, as if Cameron was directing it itself, at least that's our hope, as if you feel like the cinematography feels correct, the look and feel of the weapons, way the aliens move, is something he would've done if he was directing this."
Taking place after the events of "Aliens," check the video below to see what happens to LV-426 after Ripley and the remaining crew take off, and also for some more screen time and musings of the staff behind the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines.
"Aliens: Colonial Marines begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew. They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe. Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley's Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the Aliens universe."
Aliens: Colonial Marines is due out February 12 of this year, for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
