Details of Battlefield 3: Aftermath Emerge

There is some solid information by developers of Battlefield 3, DICE has come out with the first details, the fourth in the series DLC, called "Aftermath."

"Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran Battlefield 3: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation," said the official website.

"With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives. Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy," DICE added.

Some of the key features are:
- Four new maps for urban warfare
- An earthquake ravaged area can be used for tactical advantage while fighting through dust and rubble
- Military and civilian vehicles that are heavily modified to that is ingenious and fills in more firepower,
- Newer game modes will be added with new assignments and achievements, and dog tags too will also be made available.

EA released only one DLC package so far this past June, Close Quarters, which featured tight indoor close quarters infantry combat. The next one will be Armored Kill which will have more vehicles and artillery, and is slated to debut this September. So it is probable that Aftermath will feature a combination of both vehicles and combat. DICE has not said anything about when the the last DLC, End Game might come to the markets, though it might not be released until next year, possibly during Battlefield 4's release.

Battlefield 3: Aftermath will be released on Dec. 2012 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
