Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD Sells 120,000 Units in First Week on XBox Live

Evidently, arcade style skateboarding action is just what the doctor ordered as the HD revamp for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater managed to sell over 120,000 during the first week of its release.

The first Tony Hawk game appeared over ten years ago. A reboot of the flagship for the Hawk franchise, HD brings back levels, gameplay, and music tracks from the first two games that helped make the series a hit. Beyond just bringing back classic skating memories, THPS HD gives skate fans new game modes and online features:

- Big Head Survival sticks players with a head that's constantly growing unless you perform tricks before it gets too big.
- PROjectives provide unique, harder objectives unlocked upon completing the game's originals.
- Classic modes like Trick Attack and Graffiti mode live on for players to take on friends and foes online (no split screen here folks), as well as other modes.

The game has debuted to some mixed reviews, so keep an open mind should you decide to buy it. Hawk hopes to add more features to the game (they've already promised the Airport level from THPS3, as well as two other levels) as eventual DLC.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is available for download now XBLA for 1,200 points, or about $15, and will also be out later this month, possibly early September, for PS3.
