Samsung is looking to step on the gas pedal by releasing another flagship device in the Galaxy Note 6. With plans to launch the phablet this August 15, Samsung will have three new devices already in the market with Apple yet to debut its much awaited iPhone 7 Pro.
As they do annually, the smartphone wars take center stage. Apple and Samsung headline the mix as before but based on their releases, the Korean company already has a two-smartphone edge with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
But as everyone has probably heard by now, another Samsung variant looms and it will launch in August. This is with reference to Samsung’s famed phablet known as the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 which is set for release this August 15, 2016 per reliable tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks).
Blass has been spot-on with his calls in the tech industry so his revelation is as good as done. And if so, how does Apple’s chances stack when they do release the iPhone 7 Pro?
It is worth noting that the iPhone 7 Pro is something that carries less things to be thrilled about. In fact it may look lot like the current iPhone 6/6s (via CNet). It is not expected to carry major changes with the company allegedly holding back the major overhauls for 2017. Despite that, it seems a bit odd for Apple to allow itself to fall behind that much with the pressure on due to earlier launch dates on the part of Samsung.
Early releases working for Samsung
The earlier than usual release that Samsung has been practicing so far has been racking in good financial figures particularly in the first quarter as pointed out by Forbes. But all that is expected to die down likely by the third quarter which will be the time that the Galaxy Note 6 comes in.
It should be noted that even with minimal changes to the next iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Pro, there will still be folks wanting one. Compared to Samsung’s line however, the Korean company is likely to report a better showing in 2016.
A whole new ballgame in 2017
The whole picture changes of course in 2017 with a hopefully new iPhone coming out. Just the same, Samsung is likely aware of such and may come up with new surprises and twists to maintain their lead both with the consumer electronics buyers and its financial status.
