Disney popped up a video that gives us a little behind the scenes look at Epic Mickey: The Power of 2, and its contracted writer, comic heavyweight Marv Wolfman. No slouch, Wolfman has created villains for DC and Marvel Comics alike, such as Deathstroke, Blade, and Bullseye, as well as heroes like Tim Drake, and the Nightwing persona for Dick Grayson. Check out his thoughts on Disney below!
Spector has commented on the gameplay style, saying, "It's drop-in, drop-out co-op, you can sit down at any time with a friend who is playing as Mickey, and you can take control of Oswald. If you're playing as a single player, Oswald will be there every second of the game. He's not just a multiplayer character, he's a helper, whether you're playing alone or with a friend or family member.
Wolfman notes this, and had to adjust his writing accordingly. "Mickey and Oswald are together most of the game. What you have to do is create a sense of two characters work together."
Spector is going all out on the sequel, particularly the camera, which was heavily criticized in the first game. Spector said, "They'll be working on it until the day we ship the second game. (There have been) over 1,000 specific changes made to the camera. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game."
Spector and a team of over 700 were gathered together to work on the game, which is epic in its own right. The wasteland itself will feature old areas ruined by the Mad doctor and natural disasters, as well as new areas such as Disney Gulch, based on Disneyland's Frontierland.
Epic Mickey: The Power of 2 is expected out in Autumn for PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii.
