New Enemies Introduced for Dead Space 3: Feeders

Incredibly creepy monsters are a hallmark to the Dead Space franchise, and this new enemy type is no exception...

Feeders are a new type of enemy featured in Dead Space 3, and are the apparent result when colonists run out of snickers and have to resort to eating dead necromorphs, which probably tastes like chicken. Evidently, the poor souls on Dead Space 3's new setting of Tau Voleantis resorted to some pretty extreme measures to stay "alive."

The new enemy type should help to keep moments tense. Why? Well, since bright light hurts their eyes, expect to find them in dark places. Dark, scary, ominous places...

The good news is that they won't attack unless you attack first, or if you shine a light on 'em. But if they do, watch out. They're extrememly agile, attacking with their hands that have been distorted into something resembling talons. They also tend to attack in groups, so if you do happen to get on one's bad side, take 'em out before it can alert its buddies.

Joining this new enemy type will also be humans, a first for the Dead Space series. Protagonist Isaac Clarke will also have new abilities, like crouching, and taking cover. Old weapons and abilities like telekenesis and plasma cutter return, but not without a few changes; alternate fire, etc.

Dead Space 3 is expected to release for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, in February 2013.
