Gamasutra reports that Star Wars: The Old Republic Executive Producer Rich Vogel has left Bioware Austin. Vogel's departure, while not specifically due to the ongoing lay-offs, simply happened around the same time as Bioware is struggling to determine where to go next with their franchise.
There were earlier reports that SWTOR could become free-to-play during E3 in order to open up a shrinking audience due to lack of updates and general content. Vogel, in his then-current role, oversaw daily production and management of the various parts of the MMORPG. His leaving now just brings up more questions to just what Bioware is planning to do, or who they'll even have on staff capable of running the project.
Vogel previously worked on Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies and Meridian 59.
