"Kingdom Hearts 3," the much-awaited sequel to Square Enix's role-playing franchise, continues to get gamers talking, though current speculations may not sound so good for long-time fans of the franchise. While some are hopeful of continued advancement, some are worried that the game might actually be in trouble.
Looking at the calendar, followers would remember that the upcoming title is announced back at E3 2013, while the latest installment, "Kingdom Hearts 2," has been around since 2005. The original game that started it all is older than a decade, Hardcore Gamer says, so it's easy to realize how franchise loyalists are feeling right now.
In the latest Famitsu chart - the ranker that lists all of Japan's most anticipated games - "Kingdom Hearts 3" fell at the 9th spot, Gaming Bolt reports. "Final Fantasy 15" led the pack, followed by "Persona 5." If this will be our sole basis, it appears people are losing the hype over the game's arrival.
At the moment, worries over the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" arise from the assumption that "Final Fantasy 15" is causing such delay. While both appear to be very promising, the latter's release in September gets some scratching their heads for the former.
In December 2015, prospects had an early taste of the "Kingdom Hearts 3" gameplay through a trailer that covered some part of it, as well as that of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," GameSpot reports. While it's nothing to cry over joy for, it's still better than nothing.
From an earlier trailer, the upcoming game looked pretty much like "Kingdom Hearts," except for newer touch-ups and visual improvements. As told by Game Rant, this particular trailer showcased traditional combat, but incorporated other elements that certainly express creative punch. Still, because it is announced quite long ago, fans are yet to see what's really in store for them.
