Several fans have been patiently waiting for the release of the Apple Watch 2 despite its delays. Now, new reports are claiming that the forthcoming Apple Watch 2 will no longer need an iPhone to make use of its call and text feature.
Apple Watch 2 specs, features, news & updates
Now that the release date of Apple Watch 2 is coming nearer, recent news are saying that the upcoming Apple Watch will no longer be independent to iPhone. If proven true, this means that users can now make calls and send text messages directly thru the smart watch without the need of using an iPhone.
Reports about this Apple Watch 2 feature sparked when Wall Street Journal revealed that Apple has been planning to provide its very own smart watch a cellular connectivity. While this news caused quite a stir, several Apple users have been expecting this to happen since rivals of the tech giant, such as Samsung and LG, have already used this feature in their own products.
To keep itself on top, Apple has gradually adopted the technology, which Samsung and LG first used, and feature it to the upcoming Apple Watch 2. Despite all the clamor, Apple is yet to confirm this news.
Apple Watch 2 to cost more than its predecessor
With Apple Watch 2 having its own cellular connectivity, rumor mills are spreading that it will cost more than the first Apple smartwatch. Apple Watch 2 is said to work only on a separate plan, which forces users to pay data plan aside from their monthly iPhone bills.
However, there are reports saying that this issue might be addressed if Apple, Samsung and Microsoft unveil the eSIM technology. This feature will let users share their existing data plan on their gadgets other than their iPhone and other mobile devices. As for its exact market price, no one knows yet.
Though nothing is compared as of yet, Apple fans are expecting to have a much-improved Apple Watch 2. As a matter of fact, rumor has it that the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will have the FaceTime feature thru its own front camera. Plus, it is also rumored to be having a much-improved processor to let users enjoy their smart watch to the next level.
Apple Watch 2 is expected to arrive in September 2016. While several fans were disappointed for not being able to acquire new details about the upcoming Apple Watch 2, they are still hopeful that it will be released in WWDC 2016.
