Jack and Daxter, Cole MacGrath Added to Roster for PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, Unique Combo System

A new trailer released shows off the newest characters to PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale. Cole MacGrath of Infamous, and Jak and Daxter of, well, Jak and Daxter.

Since they function as one character, Jak and Daxter will each take on a different aspect of fighting. Jak will use some of the unique weaponry from the series, whereas Daxter will lend a hand with melee attacks. Meanwhile, MacGrath's move list is obviously lightning / electricity based. If you want a longer look at the newest fighters, you can check it out in the two trailers below.

So far, the All Stars include:

Tekken's Heihachi, Toro the Cat, Nathan Drake of Uncharted, BioShock's Big Daddy, Sweet Tooth of Twisted Metal, Colonel Radec of Killzone 2, Kratos from God of War, as well as the titular Sly Cooper, PaRappa the Rapper, and Fat Princess, with possibly more to come.

Fighting will take place in a variety of configurations. Players can take the battle online with new set of challenges, including Tournament mode, Special Event Battle, and Custom Matches, which allows players to customize their matches according to their own rules.

We've also learned a bit more about the combo system in Battle Royale, and it will be nothing like the mashing nature of Nintendo's Smash Bros. Check the trailer below.

Looks simple enough right? Well, wait 'till all four players are on screen. I promise things will get a little more complicated. I also worry that the chaotic ongoings might make it a wee bit difficult for players to keep up with their on screen characters, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to hit stores on October 23 on PS3 and Vita in the US, and will arrive in Europe the next day.
