Latest news updates revealed that Sony Xperia Z3 joined an exclusive group of the first devices to be added into the Android N Developer Preview. The other devices are the Google Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6, Nexus Player, Android One and Pixel C tablet.
Google confirmed the news in an announcement on its website. The search engine giant said that they have been working closely with Sony executives to make the N Developer Preview for the Xperia Z3.
Developers are urged to download the latest Android N Developer Preview on this link to see for themselves the features of the OS. Before they can receive the updates, however, they need to manually flash the link on their devices.
According to Google, there are two versions of the Android N Developer Preview that can be flashed into the Sony Xperia Z3. These are the D6603 and the D6653. To manually flash the OS, they have to link their phones to their computer through a USB which will automatically access the Xperia Companion (which should be version 1.1.24).
The next step is to press the ALT key and choose Software repair, which should show the next steps to be taken. Disconnect the USB, and turn off the phone before reconnecting back to the computer while pressing firmly the volume down button to start the flashing. Developers who managed to participate in the Android N preview are also asked to give their feedbacks on bugs, glitches and other issues.
Z3 users can expect new features in the Android N Developer Preview including a multi-window task manager which allow them to access two apps simultaneously. They can just change the sizes of the screen through the touch of their fingers.
Other features are the bundled notifications and the direct reply notifications which allow the users to reply to notifications without necessarily leaving the window. Of course, there's also the doze app in the Android N Developer Preview, which is touted to increase the battery life of the Xperia Z3.
