The more we see of the Nintendo WiiU's ZombiU, the more we start to wonder if it'll be the first console zombie game that could rival DayZ's own features. Both boast a single playthrough and perma-death, with the ability to find your previous playthrough as a zombie. But ZombiU empathsizes FPS functionality--granted, which DayZ does as well--but with greater focus on using the WiiU tablet for aiming, unlocking and inventory.
The "Buckingham" playthrough was shown in spurts at E3, and now is released for further conjecture with the "Nursery" set. We can see melee can be favored over guns, which would cause zombies to come stalking for you due to the sound. But the addition of using the crossbow like Meryl Dixon from The Walking Dead sounds incredibly satisfying to us. Going even further into the last bit, once the player thinks they're in the clear, the horde surrounding them seems so far away until they suddenly gain all that ground.
Sure, it might be violent, but ZombiU looks like the best use of a tablet and next-gen console we'll get to see when murdering zombies.
