Halo: Forward Unto Dawn Gets An Official Trailer

If you wanted a better look at Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, the new live-action web series that'll be recut as a 90-minute film, all you had to do was wait a day.

Premiering on the newly annoucned Machinima Prime, which focuses more on scripted long-form programming that Machinima's usual four minute videos, Forward Unto Dawn goes back to the start of the Covenant war when a military base is attacked and a group of young cadets rely on Master Chief to get them to safety. It can't hurt that the series shares the name of the iconic ship from the first three Halo games, nor that 343 Industries and Microsoft promise this will tie directly into the start of Halo 4.

Which makes us wonder if the final shot in the trailer isn't the same cadet, 20 years later, now leading or at least an important crew member on board the Dawn while flashing back to the first time he met the Chief. Forward Unto Dawn will premiere on October 2nd, later this year.
