Destiny's biggest expansion so far, The Taken King, will be formally launched in a couple of hours and like Destiny's new chapter, the expansion was packed with exclusive PlayStation 4 contents, which include a new Strike, tons of Legendary Armors, a new Outlandish Scout Rifle, and a Crucible map.
Each class of The Taken King will get their own exclusive armor sets. The Titans will don the retro inspired Hesperos armor which was built specifically to honor the Hesperonauts, the first human to land on Venus. The armor was built to hold out the planet's heat and pressure.
Warlocks on the other hand, will get the bizarre looking Azoth Bend armor set. The armor set, according to the game's description was a result of a long search of true alchemy that was finally uncovered by the Warlocks. Another odd description of the armor was inscribed in the game and says "Bend the infinitesimal mysteries of matter and energy to your will."
The last of the armor set is the Hunter set or the Neuroghast. The gear enables a perfect blend of the mind and body, through the interface of lightweight field ware, transcranial sensoria, and cytogel exowiring. It might sound really odd, but it looks cool.
Another addition to the game was the exclusive Scout Rifle which is called the Jade Rabbit. The gun will sport a 13 shot magazine and a sniper like scope. The Jade Rabbit also uses kinetic power and long range accuracy, according to the rifle's description.
The PlayStation 4 gamers will also have an access to the Echo Chamber, wherein a new striking system was made in order to defeat the very persistent Vex. The Echo Chamber uses t time travel to go back in time and defeat the root of the problem.
With regards to the Crucible Map, The Taken King will feature the newest map Sector 618. The Sector 618 map was described as a once part of the Cosmodrome wall and fell to the Fallen House of Devils hands. The once graceful sector is now a place of dangerous and beyond repair walls and bridges, which is a perfect location for the Crucible game.
In addition, Bungie and Sony are now offering a limited edition PS4 bundle which includes a specially designed Destiny themed PS4 unit and the game itself for $399. The Taken King will be released for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Bungie nor Sony has yet to confirm if the game will be available in the PC platform. From the looks of it, it might not be possible, but who knows.
