Super Mario Celebrates 30 Years In The Gaming World

Who would have thought that Nintendo's super hero plumber, Super Mario, and the gang is already 30 years old? The iconic and legendary game made its debut on Nintendo's NES, and since then redefined the gaming industry and has never looked back since.

To commemorate Mario's 30th year, here are some fun facts and trivia for those who grew up with and grew to love the plumber superhero.

Optimus Prime Voiced (one) Mario

In the 1983 cartoon Saturday Supercade's Donkey Kong, Mario was once voiced by Peter Cullen, the voice actor who pioneered to voice the Transformers leader.

Super Mario Bros Movie was the first game based film

Although the movie did not equal the success of its game counterpart, the 1993 film was iconic in a way that it was the first of its kind. The movie stared Bos Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as Luigi.

Mario was more noticeable to American Children of the 1990s than Mickey Mouse

Mario was more recognizable to American children of the 1990s than Mickey Mouse, as indicated by a review by Q.

In recent times, the Guinness Book of Records named Pac-Man as the most unmistakable feature gaming icon among US adults with 94% while Mario had a 93% rate.

Mario was originally known as Jumpman

Before his solo debut, Mario debuted in the 1981 Donkey Kong game. At that point in time, he is yet to be named and carried the moniker Jumpman.

Mario was a Carpenter before becoming a Plumber

In the Donkey Kong game where Mario is slated to rescue her girlfriend Pauline, he was, in fact, a carpenter and not as a plumber. But of course, the plumber stuck with him, but knowing this fact is mind blowing and unbelievable at the same time.

Mario's Full Name is not Mario Mario

The movie adaption wasn't only bad in reception but also in the research department. The movie mentioned that Mario's full name was Mario Mario but thanks to its creator, Miyamoto, has debunked the inaccurate information. Miyamoto pointed out that Mario just like similar to Mickey Mouse doesn't have a surname. It's just Mario.

At this point, Nintendo has yet to announce anything special in relation to Mario's 30th birthday.
