To the surprise of the contestants and audience, FC Bayern Munich's own David Alaba was on hand to present the trophy to Alshehri. The young Austrian fullback is an avid player of EA's FIFAfranchise himself, and has appeared on the Austrian cover of the game three times in the past.
Alshehri's team of choice in the final was Portugal, useful due namely to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, while Dassonville used Argentina. Despite the Frenchman's clear skill, he had trouble creating chances, while Alshehri opened the scoring with a dribble and shot from Ronaldo. Before halftime the eventual champion doubled his lead again from Ronaldo with a cross into the box that ended in a headed goal, and repeated the setup again for a third goal in the second half that sealed the win.
