Destiny's second expansion, House of Wolves, is now live.
Bungie has officially pushed the new content through to the players, activating the expansion as well as update 1.2.0 that was prepared last week. The Reef is now open to all players who have purchased the Expansion Pass ($34.99) or House of Wolves individually ($19.99). I'll be streaming gameplay from the expansion, so tune in below!
Some of update 1.2.0's features did not take effect until he expansion's launch, as they were reliant on the new content. Now, the full changes to the Crucible, vendors, and weapons are live alongside the new content.
House of Wolves opens The Reef to Guardians for the first time (aside from a few non-playable story segments in the main game), offering a new social area as a base of operations for the new missions, complete with unique vendors. A cooperative mode called Prison of Elders is introduced, a wave-based arena with its own rewards and gear. Crucible mode Trials of Osiris has been added, bringing a competitive 3v3 experience with no respawns.
Supplementing all of this are core changes to the game's economy, material exchange, and weapon upgrade system as well as a host of new House of Wolves weapons and armor. Another new feature helps prevent players from getting kicked to Orbit during connection issues, but this is only rolled out in Trials of Osiris for the time being.
Go forth and help the Awoken Queen achieve revenge on The Fallen, Guardians, and stay tuned for more House of Wolves coverage.
