Cliffhanger Productions has released the first major update to Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown, a mere two weeks after launch.
The update will offer a number of balances to characters and items, smoothing out the experience. They are also offering an olive branch to gamers who were upset with the issues that plagued the game during its launch, admitting that the first week was bumpy and offering a "goodie-bag" to anyone who stuck with them.
“We have been quite open with our communication and we have fought day and night to solve the issues and our players have been hugely supportive and patient," said Managing Director Jan Wagner in a press release. "We wanted to give something back as a way of saying thank you to our community for their understanding and encouragement.”
Players who were active during the first week of the game's launch can fire up their games to find an additional character slot, two unique bioware items (which cannot be purchased in-game), and three consumable flamethrowers "so they can flame enemies and think of the developers when they get angry"- their own words, not ours!
It's always good to see a developer admit their missteps and take steps to improve things, especially so quickly.
Along with all this, Cliffhanger has also announced plans the first content update for Chronicles, which will hit at the end of May and add an end game mode, new content, and gear. More details as we hear it!
Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown is now available on Steam for PC and Mac.
