Telltale Announces More Walking Dead Episodes

On the heels of announcing the third episode for The Walking Dead, "The Long Road Ahead," Telltale Games promises more episodes are on the way. "Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7 million episodes to consumers in just our first 8 weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go, with Episode 3 targeted for August as we confirmed yesterday."

Telltale had originally planned for five episodes for The Walking Dead. However, they have said that, "following the digital release of our fifth episode, we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do."

The second episode in the series that's out now for Xbox 360, PC, and PS3, Starved for Help starts three months after A New Day's conclusion. The situation has gotten even more grim for the group of survivors. The food is gone. The electricity is gone. The tensions in the group is rising, and there is no end in sight.

The next episode, Long Road Ahead, should be out sometime in the middle of August, and the survivors may possibly encounter the infamous town of Woodbury and will, at one point, obtain the controls of a locomotive.

Telltale also doesn't seem to be afraid of a little competition either. After Activision's Terminal Reality announced they'd be working on their own Walking Dead game, Telltale welcomed them with open arms, saying, "As huge fans of the franchise and the show, we're looking forward to seeing Terminal Reality's game when it comes out."
