HTC has already received enormous rave reviews from tech experts for its Android heavyweight One X and now the Taiwanese manufacturer is all geared up to release its entry-level Android smartphone - HTC One V - which was announced by the company to hit the retail shelves in U.S. this summer. Following the same, the One V smartphone roll out has begun on the Virgin Mobile and U.S. Cellular wireless carrier operator at $199.99 (without contract) and $129.99 on a new two-year contract respectively.
At the same time, Virgin Mobile is apparently the first network carrier to offer HTC One V in the U.S. Virgin Mobile USA started selling HTC One V last week for $199 without a contract.
U.S. Cellular that started offering One V on June 3 is charging $129 after $100 mail-in rebate for online purchases on their website. The deal behind the lower prices at the carrier is that users have to commit 2-year enrollment with the carrier.
Moreover, HTC One V will be available to purchase in retail stores beginning July 6, one day after HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE hits Verizon shelves. Further, the device will also check in for a prepaid price tag of $249.99.
As far as specs are concerned, HTC One V is packed with 3.7-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon S2 processor, a 5-megapixel camera with HTC ImageChip technology, 4GB of internal storage, microSDHC support for memory expansion up to 32GB, Beats Audio integration, 1500mAh battery, 512MB of RAM and Sense 4 on top of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Past reports have already confirmed that HTC One V handset is heading to MetroPCS in the U.S. Additionally, it is also set to hit the many smaller carriers such as nTelos or Appalachian Wireless in the coming months. Apart from that, HTC One V will arrive at Best Buy, Wal-Mart and RadioShack in upcoming few weeks.
According to industry analysts, HTC One V is a good choice for those who are looking for a budget smartphone with premium offerings.
