PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Gets a Release Date

We're still hoping to learn more about Sony's upcoming PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (wow, that's a mouthful), and today we found out a nice tidbit - the release date.

PSASBR (rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it?) is now officially set to hit stores on October 23 on PS3 and Vita in the US, arriving in Europe the next day. What you see in the picture are alternate costumes for the roster so far, part of the game's pre-order bonus. No word on who the question marks are representing.

Drake and Big Daddy were the last names to be added to the roster, though it's rumored that Metal Gear Solid's Snake, and Cole McGrath of Infamous may be making apearances. They'll be joined by Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal, Colonel Radec fromKillZone 2, Kratos from the God of Warseries, as well the titular Sly CooperPaRappa the Rapper, and Fat Princess

Sony has shown several levels that were designed from games such as Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, Little Big Planet, and God of War. Given that appearances from characters of these games wouldn't be too far fetched an idea.

Fighting will take place in a variety of configurations. Players can take the battle online with new set of challenges, including Tournament mode, Special Event Battle, and Custom Matches, which allows players to customize their matches according to their own rules.

Sony is expected to reveal more information about Battle Royale at its EVO panel later today.
