Shovel Knight Arrives On Xbox One Next Week, And He's Bringing Some Friends
Titled 'The Vision', this four minute short video introduces two of the main creators of the game, Creative Director Matt Korba and Producer Lindsey Rostal, as they tell us about their inspiration for how to bring the game to life. Instead of one single quest, like the previous adventures from the early to mid-90s at the height of the Sierra empire, the reimagined King's Quest will focus on the many adventures of King Graham as he relates his stories (with much bluster and hyperbole, we would imagine) to his grand-daughter Gwendolyn. It's a fascinating and brilliant framing device, allowing a myriad of smaller side-quests rather than one huge one.
And it's tact approved of by the original King's Quest creators, Roberta and Ken Williams. "At one point, Roberta even told us this is really what we feel that King's Quest would be if we continued to make them," said Rostal.
