Nintendo finally stepped into consistent DLC creation this generation, offering content on Wii U for games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.
The latter of those two already has a decent lineup of DLC waiting, including some playable fighters. Mewtwo hit early yesterday for eligible players, and will go on full sale at the end of the month. More is coming to the game, though, and we break it all down for you below.
Characters
Mewtwo is available now for those who registered Super Smash Bros copies on both Wii U and 3DS with Club Nintendo. He will be for sale on April 28 for everyone else--the price is $3.99 for one system or $4.99 to own him on both. Lucas is the only other confirmed character planned for future DLC--his date or pricing are not announced yet, but you should probably expect the same cost.
Rumors are floating about Roy, Ryu, and others (there's also Nintendo's write-in ballot to consider), but those are the only official characters so far.
Cosmetics
There are a swath of costumes now available for the customizable Mii Fighters. These include a SSB t-shirt, a Link cap and outfit, Majora's Mask headgear, Megaman armor, a Xenoblade Dunban wig and outfit, and cat and monkey suits. All of these are $0.75 for one system and $1.15 for both. There's also a bundle that includes all of those items for $6 on one platform and $9.20 for access on Wii U and 3DS.
