Destiny House Of Wolves Release Date Announced, Expansion Reveal Video Coming Today

The Release Date For Destiny's House Of Wolves Expansion Has Been Announced

Bungie has finally announced the release date for Destiny's next expansion, House of Wolves, which will launch on May 19.

Our Wishlist For House Of Wolves Features And Additions

Fans have been waiting for a specific date for a while now, with Bungie only having vaguely stated the expansion will release in the spring. The Dark Below released back in December, and the added content has dried up for many of the veteran Destiny players.

A trailer was meant to accompany the announcement, but the video was unavailable alongside the press release. Bungie quickly explained that the reveal was accidentally sent out early--the House of Wolves video won't be going live until 1 p.m. Eastern today. Whoops. We'll update you with the footage when it becomes available.

We don't know too much about House of Wolves, though much of the fanbase will know roughly what to expect. We provided our wishlist of what we'd like to see from the next expansion (written before Bungie patched in Vault access from the app, of course), but it's hard to say what feature will be implemented, or if it's simply more of the same content. A leak posted some of the gear we might see in the game, but it's all subject to change between that time and launch. One thing we do know is that Bungie is trying to avoid irritating veteran players, not wishing to follow the same path of The Dark Below that led to some loss of progression for the most dedicated fans.
