iPhone 5 Release Date Joins Dock Connector, Liquid Metal, Retina Display Rumors

Apple's next iPhone 5 will carry high expectations in regaining the heated Smartphone market.

Rumors continue to build with speculations that the iPhone 5 is expected to launch later this year along with its newly integrated iOS 6. The newly upgraded iOS will usher in Apple's next generation operating system along with a slew new features.

"Expect graphics improvements...to make the most out of the 4-inch Retina Display. ... Anobit's tech should help your iPhone's flash memory run much, much faster than normal flash. ... I'm expecting the new iPhone will support 4G networks internationally. ... The front-facing camera is expected to see some improvement," said Jonny Evans from Computerworld.

The larger retina display for the iPhone 5 is reported to be a 4 inch IPS touchscreen. According to 9to5Mac, the larger screen will have a 1136x640 resolution HD display.

Other features like 4G LTE connectivity powered by a 1.5 GHz quadcore A6 processor along with 1GB of RAM.  The 4G LTE can offer faster download speeds that is 10 time greater than its predecessor the iPhone 4S.

Near Field Communication (NFC) will also be included and if the rumor turns out to be true, iPhone 5 users can make purchases using their device using NFC technology. Apple may very likely include the NFC feature.  According to PatentlyApple, the United States Trademark & Patent Office granted patent to Apple for its NFC technology called "iWallet" in early June.

The iPhone 5 expects to stand out from the crowd with a possibility of using liquid metal on its external casing.  The mixture of alloy of titanium, nickel, copper, zirconium, and other metals offer both strength and flexibility.  Liquid metal is three times stronger than titanium and possess greater hardness than stainless steel.  It is non corrosive and has excellent wear resistance.

Paired with the uphold of Gorilla Glass front screen, the iPhone 5 could offer both strength, durability, and uniquely complex design case.  The device is rumored to work with a new smaller dock connector designed for the iPhone 5.  Its MagSafe style connection allows for improved connections with peripherals.  It's magnetic feature can provide better authorization for other devices connecting with the iPhone 5.

No official word yet on when Apple will unveil its next-gen iPhone 5.
