Apple is planning to release three new iPhones in the second half of 2015, with their usual mid-generation upgrade across three different sized phones.

The iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, and what is being referred to as the iPhone 6C are all due out later this year, according to a report from DigiTimes. The 6S series will use A9 chips, according to the sources, and the 6C A8 chips.
All of them will supposedly have NFC capabilities to make use of Apple Pay, and the displays will be made by Japan Display, Sharp, and LG Display. All models will also boast Corning Gorilla Glass and fingerprint scanning technology.

The iPhone 6C, as the company is understood to be calling it internally, would of course mirror the iPhone 5C. The device is said to have a four-inch display, and likely a plastic unibody rather than the metal chassis. According to the sources, the two 6S phones will be assembled by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Pegatron, while Wistron is expected to manufacture the iPhone 6C.
Whether the market will have interest in a smaller, plastic phone in the face of the new super-sized iPhone 6 and 6 Plus remains to be seen. It worked for a certain demographic for the 5C, but smaller also doesn't have to mean cheaper. The four-inch size isn't being used as merely a sizing option, but an inferior version of the phone. Those who prefer smaller devices are out of luck in terms of feature parity, if these devices become reality.
