Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut, Reasons Why Ending Will Satisfy Gamers

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut responds to the campaigning from disgruntled fans about the space shooting trilogy from company Bioware.  To appeal to the requests, Bioware plans to release a new DLC, downloadabel content, that will provide more answers without changing the game's ending.

The journey has been painful for Bioware as negative compalints and feedback poured in for Mass Effect 3.

"Our first instinct is to defend our work and point to the high ratings offered by critics. But out of respect to our fans, we need to accept the criticism and feedback with humility," wrote BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is scheduled to be released on June 26th and will contain additional cinematic trailers that expands onto the game's storyline.

Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series added, "We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player."

The new ""Extended Cut" will attempt to satisfy fans by delivering content based on observations and feedback.  Below are some of the things fans may expect to see in the upcoming DLC.

Some confirmations include the return of voice actors Raphael Sbarge, Tricia Helfer, and Lance Henrikson.  This means that characters such as Kaidan Alenko and EDI may be seeing a return.

In an interview with G4TV, voice actor Lance Henrikson said , "we did a whole series of things to add to the end of the game, to live up to the quality they've been doing."

Voice actor Alenko Raphael Sbarge also commented on Twitter, "Just when you thought I would never go back, they keep PULLING me back in #MassEffect!! Recording!! Yay! Wha-hoo!"

Other parts of the game may also clue fans in on what teh DLC will reveal. The additional content may look to reveal more about Comander Shephard defeating the Reapers.  In the Stargazer scene, two lines hinted on additional Commander Shephard content.  A child says " Tell me another story about the Shepard."  Stargazer replied saying "It's getting late but, okay...one more story."

A message appears after the conversation saying,

"Commander Shephard has become a legend by ending the Reaper threat. Now you can continue to build that legend through further gameplay and downloadable content."

Gamers looking for closure may find it in the upcoming Extended Cut, but expect to only find additional details as Bioware confirms the true ending will remain intact.
