iPhone 5 to Release Larger Screen, New iOS 6 Features

Rumors about Apple's iPhone 5 launch have been going on for quite a while now and analyst believes that the company is heading for release in October. Users can expect to see a larger screen display on the latest iPhone after leaked images of Screen Panel Backs reveal a panel measuring 4.1inches diagonally.

"The most significant of these parts is a claimed front panel from the next-generation iPod touch, with the supplier claiming that the display would be taller than the current model and that the opening in the front panel measures 4.1 inches diagonally. Apple would undoubtedly use the same display size on the iPhone and iPod touch if it were to bring a larger screen to both of the devices, so it is not entirely clear how to mesh recent claims of a 3.95-inch display with this measurement of 4.1 inches," reports MacRumors.

Apple usually comes out with the same screen size of the iPod touch and iPhone and going by this tradition, iPhone 5 is expected to come out with larger screen size than the current display screen.

With competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S3 already boasting a 4.8 inch screen, it makes sense for Apple to bring out a larger display to keep up with cutting edge technologies.

"We believe the iPhone 5 will have a completely redesigned body style, which may more closely resemble the metallic rear panel of the current iPad. We believe there is a 50% chance the new phone has a slightly larger 4+" screen. We believe larger screen size is one of the few areas in which Android devices have been able to compete. Beyond the redesigned body and screen, we believe the new phone will include 4G LTE, upgraded processor and memory, and a higher megapixel camera," writes analyst Gene Munster.
Speculation regarding the next generation iPhone 5 features continues and the inclusion of button flex cable and front and rear cameras is also reported.

"Our source's supplier has also included listings for several new parts claimed to be for the next-generation iPhone, including the home button flex cable and front and rear cameras, although the camera parts are listed as needing "verification", so the supplier may yet be confirming their authenticity," writes MacRumors.

After unveiling the iOS 6 during the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), the iPhone 5 may see an integration of Apple's most advanced mobile OS into the new device. The iOS 6 will bring new Map features including 3D views, turn by turn navigation, and vector based graphics for crisper responsive visuals.

A new version of Siri, seen on iPad, will also facilitate interaction between users and the mobile devices. The new Siri offers more languages, better response to commands, and more integrations with social networking.

Safari will enable iOS 6 with web browsing on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch easier. With the iCloud Tabs, keeping track of pages opened on devices will be quicker as users can pick up right where one has left off. With Safari, web pages can be saved along with a reading list so users can catch up on reading even when not connect to the Internet.
