If THQ were supposed to be correcting their path, they sure have a funny way of fixing things. The publisher quietly announced the resignation of their Vice President and CCO Teri Manby as part of their investment information sheet. Gamestop noted that the departure was effective June 14th while she trains her sucessor, an internal shift within the THQ ranks.
This comes on the verge of a rough year for THQ, who recently gained a new President during E3 and shelved Saint's Row The Third DLC to incorporate it into the fourth game's production cycle. Not to mention that under their new leadership, THQ are striving to enter a gameplay realm that resembles Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption over the sillier and tongue-in-cheek gameplay that the Saints represented.
The loss of the Saints DLC will have an effect on THQ's sales for the fiscal year, but the real question is why scrap something that was--not even a few weeks ago--ready to be launched? What type of overhaul could THQ be even bothering to plan?
