MLB 15: The Show is only eight days away from launch, and a new trailer continues to build the hype for America's (digital) pastime.
MLB 15: The Show 10th Anniversary Edition Announced
The game's March 31 release date will be getting the jump on Opening Day for real MLB teams by a few days, but rest assured that baseball season is well on the way.
MLB 15 continues to impress in the new video, with its next gen visuals really capturing that baseball feel. It's a brief trailer that shows off some big plays and the fully-realized stadiums that you'll be playing in, but I imagine even non-baseball fans will be impressed. This will be the series' second entry on PlayStation 4, with last year's current generation version released about a month after the PS3 and Vita game. This time around, all three will be launching simultaneously.
MLB 15 Spring Training Trailer Features Hunter Pence, Andrew McCutchen, Yasiel Puig, And More
There's no need to start all over again, either--your Road to the Show and franchise files can now carry over year-to-year into MLB 15 and later iterations. As for other features, Franchise Mode has been refreshed with new Ownership Expectations, performance-based Player Progression, and better trade and contract logic.
Sports equipment from real brands will be available for the first time, and 30 MLB legends will be available to collect for Dynasty, or you can use the whole pool in Franchise. There's also a new Directional Hitting interface, which allows you to influence the direction of your hits in real-time as you swing. Using the L-Stick, you can attempt to influence fly balls, ground balls, pushed hits, pulled hits, or any of those in combination. PS4 and PS3 have received various AI and logic upgrades, and PS4 has even more visual bells and whistles added from last year. The wait is almost over!
