Capcom recently released some of Resident Evil alumni Leon Kennedy's gameplay for the upcoming Resident Evil 6, and you can see it for yourself below.
Little is known about the story as of now, only that the game takes place over a period of about 6 months, from December 2012 to June 2013. It will have multiple settings throughout the world, including Tall Oaks, seen in the videos below.
To set the scene, Leon has come face to face with a recently zombified U.S. President, the keynote speaker at a Tall Oaks' Ivy University seminar. The president was expected to "come clean" over the incident in Raccoon City. With the truth still concealed, is Umbrella still active, or is there another rogue element at work? See for yourself below.
As seen in the trailers, Resident Evil 6 uses the same over the shoulder view utilized in 4 and 5. But 6 brings a new mechanic that allows players to move while shooting, among other features, including a new cover system, dodging, enemy counters, and a drop-in/drop-out co-op system.
Enemies will drop skill points which you can use to purchase skills to customize your character to make them more unique. Skill examples include increasing your firearm power, or your durability. Puzzles will make a return, including "a few tricky ones," and will be more like the first three Resident Evil games where you have to explore a bit before you are able to solve them.
Zombies return as the main enemy, doing away with the plaga parasite. Capcom has assembled its biggest team yet with over 600 people coming together to make this game.
A demo can be downloaded with codes when purchasing Dragon's Dogma for XBox 360, and a "more public" demo is scheudled for release on the Playstation Network September 5th, 2012. Resident Evil 6 is due out October 2nd.
