Microsoft is expected to announce its first tablet in the Los Angeles today in few hours. This seems to be the best explanation of its unexpected invitations to media.
At 3:30 p.m. PT, Microsoft is expected to unveil its first tablet, most likely powered by Windows 8, the company’s upcoming operating system. The Windows OS-maker will uncover its own branded tablet. Earlier rumors said it had teamed up with Barnes & Noble, a bookseller who has cooperation with Microsoft on its Nook reader, although Barnes & Noble denied the claim.
Along with previous speculations is that the new tablet will be an Xbox-branded device. This seems possible as Microsoft has decided to make its efforts on the SmartGlass, an application that connects phones, PCs, and tablets with Xbox 360 console.
More tech giants are starting to produce tablets. Just two year ago, Apple kicked off the iPad tablet which has since become the world’s most popular tablet.
As a new player in the tablet market, Microsoft decided to make it all by itself. But we’ll have to see at today’s media event that how Microsoft will surprise us. Could it be an iPad killer?
