Spring training has arrived, bringing MLB fans out of their winter hibernations to watch their favorite team prepare for the upcoming season. The developers of MLB 15: The Show have been hard at work, and have teamed up with the returning players for a new video.

The trailer, below, highlights the new equipment using real brands in the game for the first time. Big name players such as Yasiel Puig, Eric Hosmer, Hunter Pence, Russell Martin, Andrew McCutchen, and Adam Jones all take part in the fun, and it's a pretty light-hearted video.
Pence in particular is amusing, and the players marvel at the realistic graphics and the dedication to details. The developers try to nail the specifics of every player, and the game really does look great on PlayStation 4, as did its predecessor.

Last year was the first for the franchise on the new hardware, and Sony is upping the ante with more graphical improvements. It's not all visuals, of course--other new features are joining the licensed equipment. Year-to-Year Saves (which we had heard about before) will be available in MLB 15, allowing you to transfer Franchise and Road to the Show progress on all platforms from MLB 14 into the new title. Franchise Mode has been refreshed with new Ownership Expectations, performance-based Player Progression, and better trade and contract logic.
There's also a new Directional Hitting interface, which allows you to influence the direction of your hits in real-time as you swing. Using the L-Stick, you can attempt to influence fly balls, ground balls, pushed hits, pulled hits, or any of those in combination. There are additional tweaks to AI and logic, which will all improve the overall experience.
