Samsung Gear VR Stealth Action Title 'Protocol Zero' Launches Via New Oculus Store

Stealth Action Virtual Reality Game Protocol Zero Launches On New Samsung Gear VR Oculus Store

After a successful demo launch back in January, DeNA has officially released their first person stealth title Protocol Zero for the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition.

A Different Perspective Gives Alien: Isolation A Whole New Feel

The Oculus powered title puts players into a war torn futuristic city where they will have to use a combination of stealth and brute force to guide themselves to victory. You can switch between several different camera modes - such as thermal or x-ray vision - all with 360 degree views.

"With the power of Oculus and Samsung, virtual reality is on the verge of becoming an everyday household technology," said Barry Dorf, vice president of partnerships and alliances at DeNA. "We are thrilled to be among the first developers to bring an interactive entertainment experience like Protocol Zero to this exciting new platform."

Project Morpheus Set To Launch In Early 2016

Interested players can pick up Protocol Zero in the newly launched Oculus Store - available for only to those who already possess a VR headset. It will cost $4.99, and a Samsung Gamepad or Android game controller are required to control the Protocol Zero gameplay experience in addition to the Gear VR's integrated touchpad and tracking sensors.

The demo is still available for those wishing to try before purchasing.

A whole host of new VR headsets were demoed at GDC - to the point that it seemed little else was shown - but the Samsung Gear VR is one of the first out of the gate with actual market viability and as with many things, being first is vital.

The future is Virtual Reality, and Protocol Zero is leading the charge.
