The crossover battle between Namco and Capcom explodes onto the iPhone and iPad. Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile will be released later this Summer for the next generation of iPhone and iPads from the App store. By now, the iOS version will be the second to last to come out before the Vita in the fall.
The roster, though, isn't as expansive as the console versions. Featuring only the main duos from each side of Street Fighter (Ryu and Chun-Li) and Tekken (Kazuya and Nina), there's not a lot of crossover potential. Capcom promsies " features brand new modes and a new take on the tag team mechanic," but don't go into any further detail about the mode or mechanics. From the screenshots, the button layout is similar to that of Mortal Kombat iOS and Street Fighter II iOS with one side devoted to movement and the others to a four button layout.
It looks pretty, but do we really need another mobile version of SFXT with the Vita so close to release? Capcom teased this at E3 but stressed it was only a demo. There's also no current price, but we can't imagine this would be free. Check out some of the screen shots in the gallery, which are supposedly from in-game mechanics.
We'll wait for Capcom for more information as it becomes avaliable.
