We here at GameNGuide have a thing for SUPERHOT, the time-bending indie shooter that captivated us with its concept demo. The development team has secured more money according to reports, meaning a more assured future for the title and a better SUPERHOT experience for everyone.

Polygon spoke to Tomasz Kaczmarczyk, one of the game's co-creators, after Gazeta Wyborcza reported the developers had picked up another $250,000 in funding. The title was originally funded on Kickstarter in June of 2014, surpassing a $100,000 goal with $250,000 in donations. We covered the game when it was making a splash, and provided some (tongue in cheek) tips for ways that you can become SUPERHOT, too.

Speaking to Polygon, Kaczmarczyk explained what the funding would mean to the team, which seems mainly to be the confidence to push forward and less worry about finances:
"I really can't say much more [about the funding]," Kaczmarczyk told Polygon. "We've seen a lot of support from fans, even after our Kickstarter wrapped up. To be super honest though - it's not all that big of a deal. We simply raised enough funds from additional sources (both fan support and business arrangements) that we don't have to be even one bit worried about our production budget.
"Our primary Kickstarter financing was more than enough to fund creating Superhot the way we initially planned, and we used the campaign surplus to expand the game and stretchgoal more features. All of the additional financing simply makes it even more certain that at no point during the development will we get distracted by our treasure chest running low on gold coins, and see our diet going back from healthy salads to ramen noodles."
Ramen has its place in this cold world, but we can see what Kaczmarczyk is getting at. A more secure future is good news for one of the most unique titles in memory, which introduces a mechanic that slows time when you stop moving. Combined with its visual style and that haunting voiceover, SUPERHOT is worth keeping an eye on. You can try the playable build on the game's website.
