Apple OS X Mountain Lion Has Game Center, Ready for iPhone vs. Mac

Apple announced the OS X Mountain Lion, the next generation of operating system for desktop, today at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). And with the Game Center available on Mountain Lion, now iPhone users can play even with Mac users.

The announcement came on the opening day of WWDC at Moscone West in San Francisco, where Apple presents new and updated products and software. The OS X Mountain Lion is expected to be ready by this summer, perhaps competing against Microsoft Windows 8.

Among the new features of the new operating system included Game Center, which is already available on Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 5.

“With the Game Center app on your Mac, you can play anyone on a Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch,” wrote Apple on its updated website.

“Send friend requests to gamers around the world — whether they're on the Mac, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.”

At the announcement, Apple said there are 130 million users using Game Center, and 5 billion scores are posted on weekly basis.

Also, MacBook Pro 2012 is starting to ship today with Retina Display, so Apple users may enjoy the game with the stunning high resolution.
